We have the pleasure of inviting you to take part in various events this week in our amphitheater of Gazinet to discuss different aspects of sturgeon conservation.

The members of the IUCN sturgeon specialist group will present the evolution of the population status on Tuesday 3rd September

The International Sturgeon Conservation Society (WSCS) will be holding its general meeting on the evening.

A workshop on the situation of accidental sturgeon catches and the measures envisaged to restrict them will be held on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5th September

A visit to the INRAE experimentation station, will enable to discover the ex situ stock and research in progress on Friday 6th September.

An optional visit to St Emilion and a wine tasting will round off the week, please contact us if you are interested.

Sturgeon bycatch constitutes a key issue for the conservation of these species. This workshop organised by Hannah Mc Cormick and Jörn Gessner will present the situation in different context and the solutions to decrease bycatch and their effects.

Join us for a 1.5-day workshop in Bordeaux with sturgeon researchers, fisheries officials,
fishers, and bycatch researchers. The workshop aims to:
1. Learn about global sturgeon bycatch mitigation efforts.
2. Share experiences and resources for awareness campaigns, tracking, and reporting.
3. Identify collaboration opportunities with bycatch mitigation for other protected
species
